Electrolysis of aqueous NaCl is much more feasible than electrolysis of molten NaCl. This is because aqueous state ions are already separated and simply by passing current we can obtained the electrolyzed products. But in both electrolysis we get different products.
Electrolysis of molten NaCl:
2 NaCl (l) 2Na (l) + Cl2 (g)

​Electrolysis of aqueous NaCl:
2 NaCl (aq) + 2H2O (l) 2Na+(aq) + 2OH- (aq) + H2(g) + Cl2(g)

Commercially demand of chlorine is much larger than sodium therefore electrolysis of aqueous sodium chloride is more important. It also produce NaOH and H2 which can be collected and sold.
