Solution

Dear Student,

There is not only one scientist who discovered modern periodic table. Modern periodic table was the product of many scientists' researches.

In 1864, Lothar Meyer published a periodic table which described the placement of 28 elements. Meyer's periodic table ordered the elements into groups arranged in order of their atomic weights.

John Newlands also proposed his octaves and Dobereiner’s Triads were introduced by Johann Wolfgang Dobereiner.

In 1869, Dmitri Mendeleev presented his periodic table, based on atomic wt. of the elements.

After that English physicist Henry Moseley observed that atomic number is a more fundamental property of an element than its weight. Therefore, the physical and chemical properties of the elements are determined by their atomic numbers instead of their atomic weight. This observation led to development of modern periodic table.

Glenn T. Seaborg proposed a significant change to Mendeleev's table by introducing the actinide series. So due to efforts of so all these scientists, science community succeeded in obtaining modern periodic table.
