Solution

The word syndrome is used when there are several symptoms caused by some reason where treatment is provided for individual symptoms but to treatment can be done of the main cause of the symptoms. In AIDS due it HIV infections several different symptoms are observed which can be treated but no medicines are there to cure HIV infection directly. For this reason AIDS is a ‘syndrome’ but not ‘disease’.
