Saturated fats obtained from animal products such as butter, ghee, milk etc. is harmful because it increases the levels of cholesterol in our body due to which our arteries become narrow or could be blocked also leading to various heart diseases.
Unsaturated fats contained in oils are healthy because they donot increase cholesterol levels in our blood.
