Why are humans at the top of the food chain?

Humans are at the top of food chain because of theory of survival of the fittest. Even though humans cannot compare to animals such as lions, sharks etc. but we are far more intellegent as humans have created tools such as guns that can be used to kill any animal.
Human have no direct competition from any predator and have the capability to attack any form of lifewether it may be by using medicines to fight various microorganism or guns and grenades to kill brain bearing animals.
