Solution

Dear student!

A fossil fuel is natural fuel such as coal or gas, formed in the geological past from the remains of living organisms which have been obtained from the earth or the oceans etc. Now, since the natural gases, coals, coke or petroleum etc. are obtained from natural resources like from mines or oceans so they are called as fossil fuels.
