Why are Pt/Pd/Ni/Zn mostly used as catalysts?

These elements have some unique properties like:
1) High melting points, due to which they can withstand high temperatures.
2) Ability to abdsorb gases, hence used in heterogenous catalysis.
3) Do not corrode/oxidise easily hence can be recovered after the reaction.
