Need for Survival: The food we eat and the water we drink are all natural resources. The houses that are built too uses natural resources like logs, derived from wood or bricks, derived from mud.
For Progress- Industrialization the base of all economic progress is depended on electricity. This is what we either get from water or coal or wind.
