why are tapetal cells bi-nucleate?

The innermost layer of the microsporangium is called tapetum. It is nourishing and provides nutrition to developing microspores. These cells have dense cytoplasm. They commonly have more than one nucleus which arises because of fusion of unicellular cell called multiple fusions. This structure is called syncitium.
