Solution

The metal ions are formed by loss of electron from the metal. The more easily a metal ion is formed suggests that it is very easy to remove electron from the metals atom suggesting they are very reactive and show reluctance to exist in the free or uncombined state, therefore it very difficult to discharge such metal atoms.
