why are we ableto slip hot tea or milk faster from a saucer rather than a cup
Increase in the surface area of an object increases the rate of evaporation.
Water evaporates faster from the saucer than from the cup kept at the same place because it has small surface area as compared to saucer.
If the surface area is large, then there will be more molecules on the surface to turn into vapors and this will make the tea in the saucer to get cool faster than in the cup.
