These substances arenon-biodegradable because the micro-organisms do not have enzymesthat can digest these substances. Therefore, we classify them asnon-biodegradable wastes. Other substances such as paper, vegetablewastes, etc. that can be easily broken down by enzymes arebiodegradable wastes.
