Element- An element is a substance made up of only one type of atoms and which cannot be broken or changed into another substance by any chemical means except physical means such as radioactivity.

Graphite is an allotrope of carbon which is made up of only carbon atoms and cannot be broken down to any other substance.

Whereas, a mixture is a substance in which elements and compounds are physically mixed with each other.

Blood is a mixture because it contains plasma, blood cells, glucose, proteins, mineral ions, hormones etc.
