Solution

In scavangers digestion of food takes place inside the body whereas in saprophytes digestion of food takes place outside the body. The other major difference between scavangers and saprophytes is that scavangers ingest solid food whereas saprophytes ingest liquid food. Hence, although scavangers and saprophytes feed on dead organisms, there are major differences in the mode of nutrition.
