The Chota Nagpur Plateau is located in Eastern India, and it covers major portion of Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal, Bihar and Chhatisgarh
The Indo – Gangetic plain lies North to the Plateau and Mahanadi river basin lies to the South of the Plateau
This plateau region consists of Ranchi, Hazaribagh plateau, Singhbhum region where minerals like mica, bauxite etc are found
High grade Hematite iron ore deposits are found in this plateau region
Hence, Chota Nagpur plateau region is a rich storehouse of minerals like mica, bauxite, copper, lime stone, iron ore and coal
