Question

Why current does not change in series circuits and why potential difference change?

Open in App
Solution

Think of the wire as a pipe and the current as a certain mount of liquid flowing in the pipe. The pipe does not leak, so the amount of current flowing in the wire (pipe) does not decrease. Voltage is similar to the pressure in the pipe, so it can change as it moves through resistance.
