Why do cars skid on a wet road? How does it relate with friction?
Dear Student! Dinidharan,
Friction occurs due to interlocking of irregularities of two surface. Friction always oppose motion. When road is wet, water acts like a lubricant. Because of this, interlocking of the irregularities does not occur properly resulting to reduced friuction. Hence, cars skid on wet road.
Cheers!!
