Question

WHY DO DIFFERENT SOAPS HAVE DIFFERENT FOAMING CAPACITIES?

Open in App
Solution

Different saops have different foaming capacity because they are made up of different salts of different fatty acids.
for eg :
Sodium stearateC17H35COONa
Sodium Palamitate. (CH3(CH2)14COONa
Basically the foaming capacity is dependent upon the ability of micelle formation of these salts of fatty acids.
