Question

Why do electrons revolve around the nucleus?

Open in App
Solution

There is an existence of electrostatic force of attraction between nucleus (proton) and electron due to opposite charges. Because of the presence of electrostatic attraction between the nucleus and the electrons, the electrons should fall into the nucleus in stationary state. That is why electrons revolves around the nucleus. By revolving around the nucleus the attractive forces between the nucleus and electrons are balanced by the centrifugal force of moving electrons and atoms become a stabilised entity.
