Question

Why do polar bears try to avoid overheating of their bodies?

Open in App
Solution

Polar bears body are designed in a way to trap more heat (covered with fur). So, on comparatively warm days they move slowly to prevent overheating. Excess amount of heat may prove harmful for them. They lose extra heat by their body where fur is absent like nose, ears, foot pads, and shoulders.
