Question

Why do raindrops fall in spheres?? I know it is due to surface tension but i have doubt that does it form sphere or aerodynamic due to reduce air resistance?

Solution

The only reason for the spherical shape of rain drop is that each drop tends to acquire minimum surface area due to surface tension, and for a given volume, the surface area of sphere is minimum.
