The northeast trade winds in the Ganga plains (tropical latitudes) deflect due to the Coriolis effect. The Coriolis effect ((inertia due to rotation of the Earth) defines the winds in the tropical latitudes. Winds deflect towards right in the northern hemisphere and towards left in the southern hemisphere.
