why doe fertilisation at ampullary-isthmic junction only leads to pregnancy why not any place else?

Solution

After the egg is released by the ovary during ovulation it is capable of fertilization only for about 12 to 24 hours. This period of eggs availability falls when it is in ampullary isthmic junction. If the egg does not meet any sperm here then it continues its travel down the uterus unfertilized and is shed.
