Question

why does a paper kept in front of a concave mirror gets burnt?

Open in App
Solution

Light falls on a large area on a concave mirror, but all that light is collected on one small point on the focus of the mirror. So, in a way, the energy falling over a large area is concentrated over a small area after reflection. This energy heats up the paper and causes it to burn.
