why does aerobic respiration gives out 36 ATP and anaerobic respiration gives out only 2 ATP ? ? ? ? ?
In anaerobic respiration processes like Krebs cycle and oxidative phosphorylation does not occur so the yield of ATP is low. Only glycolysis occurs in anaerobic respiration and in glycolysis there is a net gain of only 2 ATP. So the yield in anaerobic respiration is 2 ATP.
