Question

Why does liquid attain shape of the container in which it is poured?

Open in App
Solution

The force of attraction between particles of liquids is less and interparticle space is more as compared to solids. So, the particles of liquids are free to move and are not held at fixed places. Due to this, the liquids donot have fixed shape. They take the shape of the container in which they are poured.
