Question

why does loamy soil has much moisture?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student!

Soils on their own do not contain moisture but they retain moisture when they receive it. Since sandy soil have large spaces between its particles it cannot retain much moisture while loamy soil which is a mixture of sand, clay and other soil particles, has a larger capacity to retain moisture because of the presence of clay soil in it.
