Why does our hairs and nails grows so faster?

Our hair & nails are made of a type of protein known as keratin. A single hair consists of a hair shaft (the part which is visible), a root below the skin and a follicle. It is the follice from which the hair root grows. Similar , happens with the nail. Nail matrix is present inside the skin and the outer part is known as nail plate. The matrix is the living part which is responsible for the growth of nails.
