Question

Why does the land surface cools down much faster as compared to the water surface ?

Solution

Hi Ashwin!

This effect is also because of the higher value of specific heat capacity of water, compared to that of land. The water molecules must lose heat energy to cool off. As the specific heat is high, it requires a long time to lose the energy of the water molecules.

Cheers!!
