Question

why does the cord of an electric heater not glow while the heating element does?

Open in App
Solution

The coil of an electric heater also glows slightly if you observe carefully. However, it doesn’t glow much like the filament of a lamp because the heat from the coil in a heater is transferred to the iron plate or some other material. And this heat is then transferred to the substance which is to be heated.
