Question

Why does the interior of a car parked in Sun become hotter than outside?

Open in App
Solution

The windshield of the car that allows the sun rays to enter inside does not allow the radiation to come out easily. As a result the long wave radiation gets trapped inside the car making the atmosphere hot. As the space is less than outside, the heat appears to be much more than the outside atmosphere. For this reason the interior of a car parked in sun becomes hotter than outside.
