Why does the reactivity of aluminum decreases when dipped in nitric avid

Solution
Nitric acid is an oxidising agent. Aluminium after reacting with nitric acid oxidised into aluminium oxidised.
2Al(s) + 6HNO3 (aq) —> 2Al(NO3)3 (aq) + 3H2(g)
So that after oxidation a layer of aluminium oxide form on the surface of aluminium which prevent it from further reaction. Hence reactivity of the aluminium decreases when dipped in nitric acid.
