Question

Why does the shadow of an object become bigger if we bring it near the source of light??

Open in App
Solution

This is purely because the angular size of the object compared to the light source becomes larger as it brought closer to it. The shadow formed by the object would thus be larger as a result. If the object is moved away, the size of the shadow formed would be smaller compared.
