why dostomata of leaves close when carbon di oxide is not required?

Solution

Open stomata would lead to loss of water by transpiration and plants would be severely depleted of water if stomata are open all the time and also since there is high concentration of carbon dioxide available to plants for making food, stomata are not required to remain open.
