why electric field lines do not touch each other

Two electric lines of forces can not intersect each other. This is because at the point of intersection, we can draw two tangents to the two lines of forces. This would mean two direction of electric field intensity at the same point, which is not possible. Hence, no two line of forces can intersect each other.
