why fertilisation does not take place in uterus?what happens if egg comes to uterus and then sperms enter into uterus?

Solution

Fertilization does not takes place in uterus because a mature egg, released from ovary halts in the fallopian tube, and waits for sperm, in order to get fertilized. More over in the mean time when egg is present in the fallopian tube, various changes takes place in the uterine wall for implantation. If the egg is fertilized by sperm then it will move to uterus attaching itself to the uterine wall and becoming placenta otherwise it would break off and the next menstrual period will then commence.

An egg after ovulation reaches the fallopian tube and can stay there 12-24 hours, during this time if sperm can swim through the cervix and can reach the fallopian tube, fertilization can take place.
