Question

why fungi and bacteria cannot intake solid food material like amoeba ?

Open in App
Solution

In ameoba, the mode of nutrition is holozoic, in which the solid food is digested by the enzymes present in amoeba. Where as in bacteria the mode of nutrition is hetero tropic or auto tropic. In fungi it is saprophytic mode of nutrition which depends on the dead and decaying materials. Amoeba has the necessary enzymes required for the digestion of the solid food, but bacteria and fungi lack them.
