why in multiplication of fractions the whole number is multiplied with only numerator and not with the denominator ?

Dear Chaitree, When we are multiplying a number with fraction then numerator and denominator both are multiplied, i will show you how, Let the number is 3 and fraction is 25 now see the number 3 can also be expressed as, 3= 31 and this 31 is same as 3 because dividing any number by 1 give you the same number so, when we are performing , 3×25 it is same as 31×25=3×21×5=65
