Why is a alpha particle called helium nucleus?

Alpha particle is also called He nucleus because like He atom, it consists of 2 protons and 2 neutrons. However, it has no electron cloud, because of which it has an overall charge of +2. It is denoted by the symbol Î± and is written ₂ ⁴He²⁺ or He²⁺ as there are no electrons.
Hence it is similar to the He nucleus with 2 protons and 2 neutrons.
