Question

why is alloy considered a mixture and not a solution ?

Open in App
Solution

An alloy is a solidified 'mixture' of two metals as there is no chemical interaction between the constituent elements.

e.g. Brass (Zn+Cu)

Bronze (Cu+Sn)

In a solution there is a chemical interaction (e,g NaCl in Water) between the solute and the solvent.
