Solution

Cyclones are more frequent in Bay Of Bengal region because of the following reasons and its impact:

a. It has a history of deadliest tropical cyclones owing to lowest atmospheric pressure conditions.

b. Owing to the high fertility of the region, east cost flatlands, special nature of the coastline, the shallow coastal ocean topography and the characteristics of tide in the North Bay of Bengal region makes its highly vulnerable to intense storms.

c. When the ocean water is warm, more than 26°C, water evaporates from the warm ocean and form clouds. If there is low air pressure where the clouds are formed, it pulls them in and they begin to rotate.

d. In this way, tropical cyclones develop over the warm water of the Bay of Bengal

e. Cyclones over the warm tropical oceans are capable of producing dangerous winds, torrential rains and flooding, all of which may result in tremendous property damage and loss of life in coastal populations.

f. These cyclones also bring about rainfall in the Coromandel Coast.
