Why is deuterium oxide known as "heavy water"?

Deuterium is the heavy isotope of water, due to presence of one proton and one neutron in comparison to only one proton and no neutron in Hydrogen. Therefore, the deuterium oxide (D2O) is known as the Heavy water.
