Why is excessive consumption of alcohol result in the kidney failure in human beimg?

Alcohol directly affects the form and structure of kidneys. The base membrane of glomerulus becomes excessive thicker and the cells get enlarged due to the effect of alcohol. The flow of blood and the process of filtration get hampered due to these changes. Gradually with excess enlargement of size kidney fails to purify the blood. this situation is known as kidney failure.
