why is friction produces heat is a disadvantage as it should be an advantage?

Solution

Friction opposes relative motion between surfaces in contact. Due to roughness of the surfaces in contact heat is produced when there is relative motion. Thus, a part of energy is lost as heat and sometimes sound due to friction. Since, this heat is unusable it is a disadvantage of friction.
