Solution

On cutting an onion, a gas is released which causes irritation in our eyes thus producing tears. But, the amount of gas produced lessens in a refrigerated/cold onion as compare to an onion kept at room temperature, Therefore, cutting an onion from the fridge is more easy than an onion lying at the room temperature.
