why is it that " replacin natural forests,rich in biodiversity,monoculture plantations leads to the loss of biodiversity?

  • Monoculture plantation is bad from biodiversity point of view. Because in a jungle, multiple species of trees are required for the food and survival of the insects, birds, monkeys and many other animals.
  • Introduction of Monoculture plantation make these animals, birds, insects to start migrating to other areas in search of more suitable living conditions.
  • That is why, Monoculture plantations are sometimes called Green deserts , because, very few species only live here like a desert.
