Why is kreb cycle(a step in aerobic respiration)is called terminal oxidation
Krebs cycle is an important series of biochemical reactions in cellular respiration. It is called as terminal oxidation because the substrate Acetyl coenzyme A is present in highly reduced form in the beginning. ( Many H atoms.) Through the course of Krebs cycle all the Hydrogen atoms are oxidized and energy is released. The final products being CO2 and H2O along with energy in several molecular forms.
