Question

why is less sebum produced by the sebaceous glands in winter

Open in App
Solution

The skin is dryer in winters because of the dry chilly winds which take the moisture away from the skin and leave it dehydrated. The activity of the sebaceous glands does not change, it is so that in winters it is unable to cope up with excessive dryness. The activity of sebaceous glands decreases only with age.
