Why is life on earth based only on carbon and not any other minerals. Explain in detail

Green plants synthesise glucose through the process of photosynthesis. Glucose is made of carbon atoms. Our body is made of 18% of carbon. Organic compounds such as carbohydrates, fat molecules have backbone made of carbon atoms. Respiration which releases energy breaks down glucose into carbon dioxide and water. Respiration is the most important activity of life. Hence, the life on earth is based on carbon.
