Why is Mathura refinery creating problem to Taj Mahal?

The Mathura oil refinery releases toxic gases and disposes waste into the rivers making the area dirty and unhealthy. Excessive Sulphur Dioxide in air results in acid rain, and it turns white marble to pale yellowish colour.
